Meet The Team

After graduating 1997, he started private practice providing full-scope optometric care to the community. 

He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley. Dr. Efrain Mascareño believes in looking at the big picture when it comes to your eyehealth, so he takes the time to get to know you, your eye care history, and your vision needs.

He knows that getting the right prescription involves balancing several factors, including clear eyesight, visual efficiency, and your ability to process visual information seamlessly.

Dr. Mascareño is therapeutically board certified in the treatment of eye diseases andhas extensive experience in contact lens fittings. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the San Diego County Optometric Association.

In his free time, Dr. Mascareño enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Dr. Boeck has lived in East County San Diego since 1959 and graduated from Santana High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Pacific University in 1975 where he also played baseball. He earned his Doctorate degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1979.

Dr. Boeck has been in private practice in San Diego for over 35 years.  After 9/11 he joined the Air Force Reserves, serving over 13 years and achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serving as Chief of Optometry Services at March ARB, CA.

He has also been deployed on fourteen Humanitarian Service Missions to Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. He is proud to continue his service to his country through the Veterans’ Administration Outreach Program.  In his spare time, he loves to travel and Downhill skiing.

Dr. Nilam Bansal graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry from University of Houston and a Bachelors from the University of Arizona. She practices Primary Care Optometry with passion and treats her patients like family. 
 
She has a special interest in the treatment of ocular disease and specialty contact lens fittings. Dr. Bansal began her training at Veterans Affairs in Albuquerque (NM) and practiced in Tyler (TX), Washington DC, and San Francisco (CA).
 
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and was a Board member of the San Mateo Optometry society. 
 
She strongly believes in helping the less fortunate and has completed numerous medical mission trips to Haiti and routinely sees patients in non-profit clinics.  Outside of Optometry, she enjoys eating as much as she loves cooking, spends her free time working out, and learning about the stock market.
